dan the man...the handyman.

When our family used to go to Lake Powell, everyone would refer to my dad as Dan the man, for obvious reasons:) Today I'd like to refer to him as Dan the Handyman. Every time he comes to Utah to visit, he's either fixing, adding, re-doing...etc. I think each time he comes he makes a trip to either Lowes or Home Depot, sometimes more than once each trip, and I like to give him a hard time about it! Secretly, I know he loves fulfilling a task!

Let me just name a few things he has done for us while he's in town...
Fixed the sink in the basement
Changes air filters
Added soft water system
Changes lights
Hangs blinds
Hauls trash to the dumpsters
Waxes cars
Changes windshield wipers
Hangs fans
Changes light switches
Unclogs drains
Adds weather stripping to the bottom of doors (i think that's what they're called)
Takes down trees
Plants new trees
Hangs pictures, very straight I might add
Hangs mirrors so I can see the back of my hair
Puts up sensor lights so I can feel safe at night
And the list goes on....

Well, this past week while mom and dad were in town, dad decided to take on another task. This time it was the light fixtures in the front of the house around the garage. He took down the old, and put up the new. He can pretty much do anything, and that's why he's my handyman. Thanks for everything dad!!

I love you dad!

What a sweet post! He is a great handyman and a great dad! He loves you and if he could post he would say it himself...haha! I'll have to teach him how! We had so much fun being with you this last week and miss you already. Thanks for letting us "hang out" with you...and for showing Dad "hanging" the lights :)
