ccc's on sunday.....chocolate chip cookies.

Reunited at last! Just wanted to be sure that everyone knows we have kept up with the Skinner/Farnsworth traditions.....cookies, cookies, and more cookies. This is the second Sunday in a row that we have celebrated our togetherness, and we plan on continuing it throughout the semester. A word from Emily....
Hello internet, this is my first time blogging! I love baking and eating cookies with Whitney. She is the coolest cousin ever! It's like having an older sister around. She tells me all I need to know about BYU, and she is always willing to listen to me. Love her to death! Over and out.

I just love her!!!!!!

W is for...

Watermelon.
I am so incredibly sad that the peak of watermelon season is coming to an end. I think I have cut up about 6 watermelons this summer, no joke, maybe even more. In fact, there have been times when mom and I have decided to buy TWO watermelons, just in case one of them doesn't satisfy our need for a really good one.

Water Bottles.
This is my new best friend. I have always had a hard time drinking enough water, but this little beauty has been such a help this summer.

White Collar.
I have recently begun a new television show obsession. I love it for the story line, and for his beautiful face, obviously. Even my grandma admits that she'd watch the show regardless of how good or bad it was, just because he is so incredibly good looking. I would have to agree.

no more wishing.

My dearest blog readers,

Do you ever wish you were someone else? I don't mean for the life they have or the way they grew up, but rather for their talents, the way they set goals and then accomplish them, their pizazz for life, their desire to do good things, their energy, their determination, and their ability to express their emotions in such a way that you can completely and totally relate? (sorry for the run-on sentence. You'll find that i don't use punctuation correctly. I apologize, however, this is my blog after all, and I'm not being graded...)

Today I had one of these moments.

For some strange reason that I don't understand (okay, so maybe it's not that strange, but from the perspective of the opposite sex, it could be), I found myself completely and utterly captivated by a former classmate's lovely blog. I think i spent a half hour today flipping through a number of her past posts when i should have been getting ready for school. (Boys just don't understand the joys that can come from 'blogging')

Everything about her blog is lovely: the way she writes, the pictures she takes, the boy she's dating, the food she makes, the fact that everything on her blog is real. She's real. Very real. I love that. I love that she writes about the simple things in life that bring her joy, and the fact that sometimes life isn't always perfect. She realizes, however, that she has everything to be grateful for and has every reason to be happy. I love that.

I want to be more like that. I want the pizazz for life, the determination to accomplish goals, the ability to develop interests into talents. I'm starting today.

Goals. I have a lot of these. Wish me luck.

yours truly,
whit

just thinkin.

Sometimes, okay, so maybe a lot of the time, my mind wanders while I'm trying to study for Textiles. Let's see what my mind is thinking about tonight:
  1. Textiles is over on Thursday. Weekly tests have consumed my life and I'm beginning to wonder what it'll feel like to not constantly be worrying about them every single day of the week.
  2. My bangs are growing out and I'm debating cutting them again.
  3. Glitter nails.
  4. I should've done laundry today but didn't.
  5. I went to Office Max tonight to buy flashcards and the store closed just seconds before I reached for the door.
  6. I nearly burst into tears today while driving to my cousins bridal shower because it was raining so hard. I thought I was going to lose my life. I'm sorry Shantelle. I wanted to be there :(
  7. But most of all......drumroll please..........I'm thinking about how ready I am for my new roomate to arrive for summer term......if you haven't already heard, this young lady will be moving in with me for the summer while she takes a class at BYU.
But let's not be fooled. Although she will be taking a class, as will I, we will be playing most of the time. I mean why wouldn't we? It's summer, beautiful weather, and our one chance to get to live together. So Dad, when our grades come out at the end of the semester, just remember that C's get degrees!

4 days til the fun begins.

Farrs.

Have you ever found yourself getting distracted while your trying to concentrate? I have. Have you ever been trying to study in the library for finals, but all you can think about is anything but studying? I have. Have you ever been tempted to leave the library, quit studying, and go to Farrs Frozen Yogurt? I have. Have you ever left the library and gone to Farrs all by yourself to satisfy your craving for the creamy cookies and cream frozen yogurt? I have.

It's a problem, I think.

That same week that I had to leave the library to get Farrs, I went with this lovely group of people to get frozen yogurt. Yep, I think that made 3 times in one week. It's a problem.

We were all wearing yellow skirts...I guess that's pretty obvious. By the way, we had one really nice week of skirt wearing weather, but because I live in Provo, it decided to snow today. Please come back skirt weather. Oh how I miss you.

Now that's the Nash I know.

The last game of the Suns season before the playoffs took place in the Energy Solutions Arena, which just so happened to be in SLC, which just so happened to be the JAZZ vs the SUNS. Obviously we went. Obviously, the SUNS won :)

Maren's getting married...

...so we threw her a bridal shower. We had such a great time and can't wait until August for the wedding!

Me and the bride-to-be!
BFF's
We showed up wearing practically the same thing, only different, haha. We love our cowboy boots :)These boys were good sports. We had them come to the shower to see if Maren could tell which one was Logan while blindfolded. After flexing, wearing each other's clothes, and attempting to disguise who they were, she guessed it right. We later came to find out that she really knew instantly because of the lack of hair on the back of Logan's legs. Such an obvious!!! Thanks for being good sports boys, and I'm pretty sure that's the only bridal shower they'll ever go to!!
Friends!
